Implant Supported Full Denture

Do your dentures slipping around in your mouth?

Do you find it difficult to enjoy eating your favourite foods or speak?

If so, an implant supported full denture may be the perfect solution for you!

Dentures Have Their Drawbacks

Dentures are prosthetic devices made of a combination of materials, including acrylic, nylon, porcelain, metal and resin. If you have a set of dentures, you will know that they act as a useful support for your missing teeth and the gums, and that they can do wonders for day to day confidence.

Restore Your Smile With Modern Advances In Technology

Do your dentures slip around in your mouth?

Do you find it difficult to enjoy eating your favourite foods or speak?

Do you want healthy teeth - even though you’re missing a few?

If so, an implant supported full denture may be the perfect solution for you.

However, dentures come with their own set of problems. They must be taken out at night and cleaned regularly, or else further complications might develop, such as cavities, stomatitis and infection. Dentures also vary in their comfort and stability, and it is not uncommon for people to develop ulcers as a result. Often this pain leads people to avoid certain foods, particularly those which require mastication (chewing), this can snowball into poor nutritional intake leading to other medical health issues and self-consciousness at social events.

Implant Supported Dentures

If your dentures are giving you grief, implant supported full dentures may be just what you need. Implant supports are made of titanium screws, and they have special attachments which lock into your new set of dentures. This allows the dentures to grip onto something other than your gums, meaning they are less likely to create trouble. Implant supported full dentures remove the need for pastes, gels, or adhesives to secure your dentures in place, as they provide far more support on their own. What’s more, the new set can be removed at night for cleaning just like a regular denture.

The Implant Supported Dentures Process

Depending on your unique medical conditions and the operation you require, the entire process may take 3 to 12 months. Here’s a breakdown of what you can expect:

1
Comprehensive Medical And Dental Assessment

Our dentists take 3D x-rays as well as scans and photos to assess your teeth, gums and jaw bone. If your jawbone is not strong enough to support the post, you may require bone grafting.

Healing time: Three-four months

2
Surgery To Place
Implant

A titanium screw (also known as a metal grade post or abutment) is attached to your jawbone and acts as a replacement for the root of your tooth. Over time, the implant is fused with the jawbone, and the gum is secured over the implant.

Healing time: Two weeks

3
Custom Porcelain
Tooth Is Placed

Once healing has taken place, the porcelain crown is attached to the implant post. You can now enjoy your beautiful, new smile!

Healing time: Up to three months

But that’s not the end of our professional relationship. Oral hygiene post-procedure is a must. You’ll be asked to attend follow-up appointments to keep on top of maintenance and to ensure appropriate home care is undertaken regularly.

Travelled from Sydney to have my wisdom teeth removed by the one and only Dr. Asef Anwar. Well worth it! I was a bit nervous but he communicated every step of the way and made sure I wasn’t in any pain. Turns out I had nothing to be worried about! Can’t thank you enough Asef 🙏🏽

I saw Dr Asef for wisdom teeth removal and it was a very pleasant experience. He walked me through every step of the procedure and ensured I felt safe and comfortable throughout. As an anxious patient this was very reassuring and I would 100% recommend this practise to everyone 😊

I was referred to Dentists and Doctors after a bad experience else where. From the start i expressed to the staff my fear of dentists, and everyone has been exceptional and compassionate. While my fear will likely always be present, my trust that i am being looked after here has been definitely helping the process. Definitely recommend to visit these amazing people

Kind, non judgmental. So very understanding and amazing during the procedure. Had a filling. Pretty tough spot, explained things exceptionally well. Fast when it counted during the filling and very patient with me needs. For the people that are afraid of going to the dentist, for whatever reason. Or haven’t been to the dentist in a long time and are anxious about the dentist. Visit here. I had DR Claire. She was amazing. I was super anxious to visit and I’ve been putting it off for years. But now I can feel at ease, knowing I can go to a dentist’s without judgement and that I’ll be in good hands. 5/5. Hands down. Do yourself a favour and go here
